We are currently recruiting for a Senior Knowledge Exchange Manager for our Dairy sector. This field-based role includes covering Knowledge Exchange activity in the Midlands region, to include Shropshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire, therefore flexibility to travel is essential, along with a full UK driving licence.

This key role has responsibility to lead a field-based team and provide an information delivery and engagement service to GB farmers through a variety of face-to-face communication which could include on farm activity, discussion groups, webinars, conferences and workshops. We are looking for an inspiring and confident Manager with dairy expertise and significant practical experience of facilitating and delivering engagement activities at industry level.

Responsibilities

Manage the Levy Payer and stakeholder engagement activity and knowledge exchange delivery in Midlands region ensuring that sector expertise and levy payer engagement is enhanced
Manage a team of field-based Knowledge Exchange Managers, delivering engagement activities
Build industry networks and deliver effective key account management to ensure impactful collaboration
Support the sector engagement team with an understanding of the industry landscape including key trends, policy, opportunities and challenges
Provide AHDB representation at relevant industry groups and committees
Provide and maintain high level facilitation of engaging and innovative knowledge insight and exchange, conducting observations and giving feedback
Promote personal and business development across the team and provide coaching to enhance skills and capabilities
Encourage cross sector and cross function ways of working to ensure positive outcomes for levy payers
Ensure all mandatory training is completed and adhere to AHDB operational policies

Essential Criteria

Educated to degree level in Agriculture or equivalent qualification, with significant practical experience of facilitating and delivering engagement activities at industry level
Relevant farming industry experience with a detailed knowledge and expertise within the livestock sector to include Dairy
An experienced or developing leader, having managed or lead a team, building team spirit and improving team performance
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
A proven track record developing and delivering innovative and effective methods of engagement
Experienced at closely monitoring and managing budget expenditure
Well-developed ability to think analytically, laterally and creatively
Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to manage deadlines
A valid full UK driving licence with the ability to travel within the Midlands region
