Inverbroom Project Manager – Shaping Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Largest Reserve

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead the development phase of a landmark conservation initiative at Inverbroom, a 7,000-hectare reserve in the Scottish Highlands. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of landscape-scale restoration, working with a passionate team and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver nature-positive outcomes for people and wildlife.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will:

Lead a development project, establishing a baseline understanding of the reserve’s natural heritage.
Champion the long-term vision for Inverbroom: a thriving landscape of healthy uplands, native woodlands, revived rivers, and species-rich grasslands.
Manage project governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Oversee contractor recruitment and delivery of key activities, including thermal drone surveys and grazing options planning.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to scope restoration, training, and engagement opportunities.
Support the development of follow-on funding and a robust monitoring and evaluation framework.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a detailed project activity plan and monitor progress against milestones and KPIs.
Facilitate a Strategic Advisory Group and ensure high-quality reporting to funders.
Lead communications and engagement with stakeholders, funders, and local communities.
Coordinate with internal teams across Reserves, Knowledge & Evidence, Communications, and Policy.

About You

You’ll bring:

Proven experience in project management, ideally in conservation, land management, or rural development.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience in managing contractors and overseeing ecological or land-based projects.
A collaborative approach and ability to work across disciplines and organisations.
Passion for nature restoration and community engagement.
